Spring fever
So I know these pictures don't look like much. For those of you who have not been in my house, you won't know that we have had boxes and piles of other stuff in our upstairs hallway for almost two years now, while Jeremy finished the floor in our computer/sewing room. Thankfully Jeremy also caught spring fever, and this last weekend he moved all that stuff back into this room. (He decided he will do the baseboards and painting and other finish work some other year! Yes!) So not only is my hallway perfectly clean, with nothing hanging on the railing, but I can now have my sewing machine always available and on my sewing table! Cleaning all that got me so excited that I cleaned my room better, (it's so full of stuff that has no where else to go that it's hard to make it look clean) and I reorganized the closet in the basement. Whew, now all we need it consistantly better weather. I can't belive that it was 81 degrees here yesterday and by the evening today, it will only be 45. Good heck, make up your mind would ya. I don't want to wish for hot weather though. I still have 4 1/2 more months of big bellyness. I guess I better enjoy the rain while I can, right!
So here is a random picture, but aren't they so dang cute! My sister blessed her baby this last Sunday and I was in shock when I asked Jeremy to come and he said yes! So I got Logan dressed and Jeremy came down wearing matching clothes. Of course everyone thought they looked so good, and had to comment that they still can't believe how much Logan looks like his Dad. I loved having Jeremy sitting by me during sacrament. I keep praying that this will become a permant thing!

Ultra Sound
Anyway, back to what you want to hear. We went to the ultra sound last Monday and the technition told us that before us there were 5 other ladies who were all having girls. So he checked first thing and surprise!, we are having a girl too! I had prepared myself all morning that it could be a girl. I think I really knew and that is why I was preparing myself for it. I am way excited though! It's kind of fun that Logan will be the only boy! He is so adorable! It will be fun to see if this girl looks like me. ( I doubt it though) Now all we have to do is agree on a name! Wish us luck!

Time out!
So here is my question. How in the world do you discipline your child when he does something so unexpected and funny? Logan, as usual, was being mean and rough with Summer. So I asked him, "Logan, do you want a time out?" Usually this works great. The few times he has had a time out, he doesn't like it and learns to say sorry quickly. So usually when I ask him this he says "No, no, no!" Well today he said in a voice that sounded so much like mine (with his brows down and his little finger pointing at me) "Do you want a timeout?" I couldn't help it. I just laughed out loud. So, of course, he laughed. But I had to get serious and tell him not to talk to me that way or he'll be doing that all the time. He's already tried again. It wasn't so funny the second time! Oh I love this age!

Half way there!
Again, I just love this age. He is trying to do and say new things all day everyday. Today he found Kylee's soccer shin guards and tried it on. He hasn't seen her wear them since last fall. I couldn't believe he remembered how to put them on. What a cutie!
I think my favorite thing he does lately is wave really excitedly and say "Hi" to everyone he sees. Most people smile and wave back. Sometimes I'm embarrassed but I smile too. What a cute little squirt. Most people will stop me to talk about Summer's beautiful red hair. Maybe he just wanted some attention too.
I also wanted to tell a cute little thing Summer did. This was a month or so ago, but I keep being reminded how much we as parents affect our kids. Jeremy was sitting on the floor with his back against the couch watching t.v. and Summer was sitting by him. I kept hearing her giggle once in a while but wasn't paying attention until Jeremy said to watch. Then I noticed her give him a quick hug. Jeremy just smiled at her and then me and she noticed that I saw, so she whispered to me (extremely loud of course) "He smiles when I do that!"
I realized, and even more now, that I need to show them those little things that let them know they are loved. We read a lot in our house, but lately it's mostly just us listening to Kylee read her book for homework. So yesterday I borrowed some cute Vegietales books from a friend and I read one to all three kids. It was so fun! They were laughing at my funny voices, and after they all wanted another one. I decided to save them and read one every day. I'm excited to read the next one today when Kylee is done with her homework. I love my kids and I am thankful that they, and my Heavenly Father are so patient with me. I know what I need to work on, in that regard, right now and I know that if I ask for help everyday, I will be a better mother. Thank you to all my family and friends who help me with this also.
Finally done
So after a couple years, our sewing-computer room floor is finally done. Jeremy had a friend help us to get the tile done, and Jeremy (with direction from his grandpa Butler) cut all the pieces of oak for the outside perimeter. Then he installed, sanded and stained it. I think it looks great. Now we need to repaint the blue walls (we still aren't sure what color) Put up a cool elk border, change the molding around the door to wood color and get floor molding for the whole room. Then build new shelves on one wall to hold all our stuff. Especially my sewing and scrap booking stuff that has been in the hallway forever. That sure sounds like a lot to do, huh. Oh well, we have time! We aren't going anywhere soon.
