Sick

I hate when my kids are sick. I got sick on Saturday and on Monday had a fever a couple of times. That evening Jenna got a fever too. In the evening before she goes to bed she never just sits with me quietly. Jeremy usually has to walk around with her while I make dinner and then I walk around with her until 7 when she can't stay awake anymore. I took this picture at 6. She had been just laying next to me while we watched t.v., then she fell asleep. I knew something was wrong. Her fever was at 100. She is so cute.
Well I am almost better. Just a lingering cough. Jenna had another fever today. I hope its just teeth. She's not coughing and is only a tiny bit stuffy. Logan has been coughing though. He's even more grumpy when he's sick. Luckily its easier for me to be nice cause I know he doesn't feel good, and I usually can get him to calm down. Kylee and I finally decided to get flu shots (mostly to get Jeremy off my back. He went and got a flu shot last week) The other kids will get one on Tuesday at Jenna's 6 month check up. Not looking forward to that! I just hope sickness is over. I HATE IT!

Children's Museum

My oldest sister Christine got some discount tickets through her preschool for the Children's Museum at the Gateway. I was so excited when she invited us to come. It only cost 9.75 for Kylee, Summer and Logan to go. There were lots of kids there so the preschool group wore green vests. We had so much fun. Christine brought her three youngest, Evelyn, Fredrick, and Hailey (I'm a bad aunt. I'm not sure I spelled those right.) Thank you Christine for inviting us!

Kylee went upstairs where there are things for kids a little older. She had so much fun doing the news. She told me the funny things she was saying. She had the biggest smile on her face. She is so grown up lately!

Evelyn liked working in the market. I didn't get a good picture of Kylee but she played in the market for a long time too. She even loved putting the food back on the shelves where they go.

Hailey turned 1 in November. She loved caring this stool around. She is so cute!
That is Christines arm and hair you can see. Her three youngest are blondies like their Dad. (She has seven total.) The older one's are darker colors like her. They are all so different. I love it.
Fredrick was trying not to drop the balls. Isn't he so cute.
Isn't this the perfect place for Summer! She is an animal everywhere she goes, so here she fit right in!

Logan was a little afraid of falling off. He liked the horse from the ground better.

I love this picture. It is the look of pure joy! He was putting balls in a tube that sucked them up. He thought that was the best thing ever. He was laughing so hard. (Just excuse the peanut butter on his face.)

Enjoying the little things

I have been washing my only set of flannel sheets and just putting them back on my bed because my cotton sheets are too cold. Well Jeremy surprised me and used part of his gift card to Cabela's to buy me another set. I can't believe how such a little thing can make someone so happy. I mean Jeremy buying them, not necessarily the sheets themselves.

They are Mocha. They match the comforter perfectly. I think Jeremy is starting to like this "make Celeste happy" thing. I'm definitely not complaining.

Anyway, I've also been of course enjoying the everyday moments with my kids. I love to hear the funny things they say. I've been reading the book called Parenting with love and logic. It is such a good reminder to stay calm, don't be too demanding and don't make a big deal out of little things that don't matter. I hope that I can learn to control my urge to yell and make them do exactly what I say. They are smart and can make good decisions. I need to let them.

My sister Cynthia gave me some good ideas to deal with Summer. She is so different than Kylee and I have to change my parenting style almost totally. She told her primary teacher on Sunday that she is mean, when she told her to sit on the chair. I was so embarrassed. Oh, well. I talked to her and hopefully she'll do better. She is always acting like an animal and I'm really trying to not let it bother me and just see how creative she is instead of how annoying. She is cute. I need to let her be her.

So, in short, I love my kids. I hope I will always be willing to learn to be a better Mom and person. Kids sure teach you a lot!

So cute.

Just some pictures I like. Jenna will be 6 months on the 28th. It's going too fast. She can play with toys now with lots more control. I love this little squirt. She loves her Daddy too. She gets the cutest smile on her face when he gets home and loves to grab his goatee.

So silly

I had Summer hold Jenna while I made breakfast the other day. She was so excited and so proud of herself.

I don't know where he learned to do thumbs up, but he's been doing it to me lately. He is so funny.
P.S. I am having a problem uploading video's. I've done it once, but haven't been able to since then. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

High Maintenance

I decided that Logan has been and probably will be a lot harder child than the girls. Yeah they are emotional and back talk, but since they are emotional, they get sad when they get in trouble.
.
.
.
Logan could care less. He'll cry when he gets in trouble, because he doesn't want to be in trouble, not because he cares that he made me mad or sad or he hurt someone or something. Plus he is crazy. He gets into things he knows he's not supposed to touch and even more if I specifically tell him not to. He jumps on and off of things and throws things, etc.
.
.
.
The funniest thing is how he loves clothes. You'd think the girls would be the one to love clothes, which they do, but not like Logan. He loves to change his clothes often and picks out his own everyday now. I put two pairs of socks on him when he went out to play in the snow and now I find him wearing two pairs just for fun.
.
.
.
So I knew that a boy would be different. I have friends with only boys and I have lots of nephews, but when its your own, it's different. Usually I can "scare" him enough to get him to mind me but for some reason this morning, he didn't care even more than usual.
.
.
.
I'm trying to work out and he is pushing the other kids (bigger than him, not smart) and growling in their face and then hitting them when they yell at him to stop.
.
.
.
Now the rule at the church is that all kids have to stay inside the gym with us. No going in the halls without your parents. Logan has known this forever. He went out in the hall on Monday and got a time out for it. That didn't phase him I guess cause he went out twice today. The second time playing in the drinking fountain and soaking himself.
.
.
.
At this point I'm pretty frustrated with him, then a little girl keeps playing with the lights and he decides (after I told him to let her mom tell her not to) to make her stop. He turns them back on and starts pushing her down.
.
.
.
That was it. I have never left early from aerobics since I started going two years ago, but today I left early. We got home and I put him right in his room.
.
.
.
I sure hope he gets out of this phase or he may spent lots and lots of time in his room. Maybe thats not a bad thing though:)

We went to visit Grandma Williams on New Years Eve. She is so cute. I know she won't be here too much longer so I want to see her as often as I can. She just hates being here without Grandpa. I love her so much. And she always lets me know just how much she loves me. I couldn't have asked for a better Grandma.
My Mom came too and we exchanged presents. She made Kylee and Summer night gowns, and Logan some p.j.s which they all tried on right away. Logan loves his Grandma. (And Grandpa too!) I couldn't believe that she made 18 pairs of p.j.s in just a couple of days. She's amazing.
That night the girls and I tried to stay up until midnight. Logan went to bed at 9:30 and Jeremy at about 11:30, which is about when Summer fell asleep on the couch. Kylee and I made it. We played the Wii and Clue and went to bed right after midnight, both of us still giggling. It was fun!

My sister Cathryn got a set of Smoothie binky's just like the hospital one's but in pink and purple and I loved them so much I had to go get some. I found some at Babies'R'Us. I think they are so dang cute!
Logan takes after his Daddy and loves oranges and clementines. He got one out of the fridge and brought it to Jeremy to peel. Then he sat there and scarffed down every piece. I just thought this was a cute picture.

Mario Kart

We got Mario Kart for Christmas with two steering wheels and we finally got it out to try it. It is so much fun. Kylee and Summer are pretty good at it. Logan usually gets stuck against a wall and just sits there the whole time, but he loves that he can play by himself.

The girls keep getting closer to the t.v. and I have to remind them to scoot back. Its so funny.

We had him play with Kylee at first, but that didn't work. He just messed her up and made her mad.

Kylee took this picture. My belly looks horrible. Oh well, it will be gone eventually.

Logan tries on the funniest things. His boots are on the wrong feet, he found the Jacket downstairs in a box, it's for Jenna next year (it has cute flowers on it), and to add to the ensemble, his fireman hat. So cute.

Resolutions

I love to hear peoples New Year resolutions! But I usually don't make any myself. I've heard lots of people say this, and I used to,
"I never keep it, so why make one"
Well this year I heard a few people say that it doesn't hurt to make a goal, even if you don't keep it. The more goals you make, the more likely you'll keep at least one of them.
So this year I made a couple of goals. I'm not making any goals about weight though. I work almost everyday on that one and I don't need it as a set goal.
So instead I made the goal to do family home evening every Monday (since I got out of the habit, and preferably before Jeremy gets home so the T.V. is off and the kids can actually pay attention) Someday he'll do it with us. (We did it this last Monday! I'll keep it up.)
Another goal is to be better at personal prayers and scripture study. In fact I should have read my scriptures before doing this. I'll go do it right after! And I need to pray on my knees, and not in my bed falling asleep.
And last, but not least, remind Kylee and Summer to say prayers. I say a prayer with Logan every night, but I forget to have the girls say their own.
So there, I have it written in words, which will help me keep them. Good luck to everyone on their goals too!
