Beautiful!

Kylee brought home a kids cookbook from school and she made some shortbread cookies (with only a little help from me) They were really good! We sat out in the back to eat them and enjoy the weather.

I LOVE the sky! Especially sunsets and especially here in Santaquin with all the orchards and mountains. I couldn't help but try to take a few pictures the other night.

I went into Jenna's room to get something and found her curled up with her bum in the air. I love when my kids sleep like this. A few minutes earlier she had been asleep on her back with both hands above her head. So cute.

Bruised fingers and Laughter

So, I've never been a morning person. I hate being woken up. Logan is so loud in the morning and yesterday he started screaming. I caught Kylee holding the door so he couldn't come in. I asked him to be quiet and Kylee to please leave the door open and get dressed. Jenna was still sleeping, so when I went to the bathroom and heard Logan screaming once again and Kylee pushing the door shut on him, I got so frustrated. I spanked Kylee's bum. Pretty hard. She said it hurt. Unfortunatley her jeans hurt my hand worse.
Later I noticed that I had a bruise on my right ring finger. When she got home I showed her my bruise and told her how I got it. She started laughing. I couldn't help it, I laughed too.
Let's just say- Lesson learned!

Summer is 6!

My spunky little red head turned 6 today! I think it was a fun day. She loved the cinnamon sugar toast for breakfast. Then we went to church and she was so good about not getting her birthday prize in primary today. They had the practice for next weeks Sacrament program and didn't have time. It's kinda fun to spread it for two weeks anyway. She told everyone who got near her that it was her birthday and she is 6. She's so funny.

.

My disc's with her baby pictures are in Jenna's room, I'll have to post more later. I totally remember her birth! When I post more pictures, I'll summarize. This is her when she was 3. What a cute little face.

Her four year picture better be on a disc. Here she is at 5. This was the day that she was in Preschool and thought she would get to go to kindergarten now that she is 5. It was so sad telling her she had to stay in preschool and wait till next year.

On Saturday Jeremy took her out to her free Winger's dinner. She had so much fun going in Daddy's car.

Logan's attire most of the day today:)
I need to get some smaller tips. Mine are too big to write in small spaces. I couldn't fit Birthday or Summer. Oh, well.
Gotta love presents!
Jenna showing off her new top teeth. I think they're so dang cute!

Summer got to pick a movie to watch. The Santa Clause. Whatever! Silly kids. They love popcorn and movies.

I left the camera downstairs and Kylee took some pictures. Here's summers new shoes from Grandma Ovard! She loves them.

Her favorite present cost Kylee only $2. A pop up brush with a mirror. We also got her the game picturika. It's pretty fun. Even Logan could play!

I like to ask them what they want for dinner. She's do easy to please! Ramen noodles! How easy.

Logan so wanted to blow out the candles too!
Happy Birthday sweet Summer!

Labor Day Weekend

We had a lot of fun last weekend. Jeremy got to leave early Thursday morning (3:30 am) with Logan to go to his Mom and Dads in Nevada. His brothers Scott and Brady were getting inducted into their High Schools Hall of Fame! Logan had so much fun with his Daddy. I missed him, but it was a nice little break. It was fun talking to him on the phone!

Some pics of Logan playing with cousin Connor.

At the football game.

Random: I remember when Logan used to do this. Jenna wanted to go outside so bad.

She decided to pull out a bunch of wipes. She was so proud of herself.

Logan missed Jenna. He kisses and hugs her till she screams and hits him.

Jenna loved the mini popsicles at Grandpa and Grandmas.
While he was gone, Kylee, Summer and I had some fun! We played rock band together one night.

Nice hair, spikey.
Kylee's pretty dang good at the drums.
Then Friday we went to Christine and Tom's for her Birthday Celebration. It was so fun! Tom goes all out and made it so fun. We had Kabobs for dinner, Cynthia made the best brownie like Zucchini cake and Tom had Cheesecake with yummy fruit. Later while we played games he had 3 different yummy cheeses with grapes (homegrown) and crackers and green olives with sparkling juice to drink. I felt so spoiled! We had so much fun doing karaoke, and laughing and talking. We need to do that more often. The next morning (Mom, Cherish and I slept over) we had an awesome breakfast and went to garage sales together with Cathryn and Christine! It's our tradition. I didn't get to go last year, but I made it the year before. I got some awesome stuff this year.

Jenna was so tired. Cherish helped her finally fall asleep!

So cute.

Sharing the front!

It is so fun to spend money. Just look at the gleam in her eyes!

My stash:
Two boxes of these dishes. 8 place settings. Only cost me 10 bucks! I have wanted square dishes for a long time! I love them. (They also come with a mug)
I also got Logan 4 pairs of bigger pants, and 1 pair of shoes that look brand new. I got the girls some books; me two way cute skirts and a new knife set with cutting board, and new sunglasses all for only 20 dollars. I love yard sales!
I stayed and went to church with Mom and Dad on Sunday, then Sunday night went to Cats and stayed. She has such a cute house! All in all we had a fun weekend. I love hanging out with my Mom and Sisters!

Genealogy, I am doing it! (Isn't that a primary song?)

A couple of months ago, my mother-in-law told me that she is related to someone who was in the Willie and Martin Handcart Companies. I thought that was so neat. I have a cool book by Gerald N. Lund called Fire of the Covenant, so I read it again to remember the story again. My neighbor happened to see me out reading and let me borrow a couple of their books. One is called The Second Rescue. Apparently in the late 90's the Stake President in Wyoming found out that the Temple work hadn't been done for the Willie and Martin Companies. So they did it! It was such a good book. It really made me think about my family and made me want to write down my genealogy charts. I looked online for a few names, and found Jeremy's Grandma Butler's line and found Sarah Nightingale and her mother, brother and sister who were all in the Martin Handcart Company. Just by reading dates, I found out that her brother died at 17, just one year after making it to the valley. Her dad died two years before coming and many brothers and sisters stayed behind.

Jeremy's grandpa Butler made a pedigree chart for each of my kids. This helped me find the Nightingale's!
.

Well, lucky me, the same neighbor who lent me the books, usually works at the family history center here in Santaquin. I went to her house to talk about it one night and she helped me find a program on lds.org that I downloaded and can know type in all my family lines. I look on familysearch.org (you can get there through lds.org) and find all the names and dates and type them in my program. (Thank you Aunt Nancy for finding so many. I've seen your name on a lot of records. We'll have to talk about it sometime! I'd love to hear how you found them!)

.

Well, I'm officially obsessed. I spend hours doing it and every time I think I'm almost to the end of the info., something pops up and I find a bunch more. I have also talked on facebook to some of my Dad's cousins in Ohio (where my grandpa Hayes was born) who have given me tons of names and dates. It's been amazing!

.

I feel the spirit of Elijah so strong. I know there is some reason why I've been so interested in this lately. I don't know if I'm meant to find someone who needs work done, or if it might be just to get me going to the temple more. Either way, I'm so glad I'm doing it!
