School and stuff

Yesterday I was able to go to Provo to watch my Amazing sister Cynthia and her husband Scott come to the finish line of the Utah Half Iron Man race! I can't believe they did this! It is 2 miles swimming in Utah Lake, 53. something miles on bike, and 13.1 miles running! They did it in 7 and 1/2 hrs! I can't even imagine doing something like that for that long! I am so proud of them! I totally got tears in my eyes when I say my sister coming toward the finish line!

Doesn't she look awesome! And she's had 4 kids! I don't think I'll ever do this, but I do hope to run some small races with Cyn someday! She's an inspiration to me!

Here are some more things we've been doing.

I moved the garbage can yesterday and Jenna jumped in the cupboard. What a goof ball.

Logan and Jenna kept busy this morning for an hour or more, quietly playing car together. Jenna has some play keys and Logan would sit by her and they'd drive together. I guess they were pretending to watch movies too. I had to come down to see what was going on cause they never play this quiet together. It was cute!

This picture doesn't do it justice, but I love this new little hat I made! Jenna loves it too and wore it all day!
The first day of school!!!
Last Tuesday the 24th was the first day back to school. I was o-k with them going back, but not way excited to get rid of them like some parents. I love the help they are when their home. I love my kids! But they both were so excited! They both wanted to wear their new dresses for the first day.
We are just far enough away from the school that they ride a bus. I like it because I know the bus driver and I don't have to get the other two in the car and take them and pick them up. It's just easier. I'm glad now that they ride together to, and from school.
After school! And still excited. They couldn't wait to tell me how much fun they had, the food they ate, and how much they like their teachers! Summer's teacher told us during Relief Society today, that she is so tired! I bet! They had such a fun first week!
Here are just a few other things we've been up to.

Chillin' with Dad, listening to music and learning new hand signals ;)
She can't help but peek when I'm taking pictures.

Jenna let me do her hair last Sunday and it actually turned out cute! For those of you who don't know: I don't do hair! And she kept it in all through church!
I love this skirt too! Thank you to those of you who have so generously let me use your kids clothes! And the shoes were only $7 at Payless. And because I bought them, I got Kylee's new church shoes for 1/2 off. Only $5! I love bogo!

School haircuts!

I really needed a new haircut and my sweet neighbor and hairdresser gave me an awesome deal to get my hair highlighted and cut, and all the kids a trim. They were all so excited. Well except Jenna. She only let her do it if she sat on my lap.

I usually cut Logan's hair, cause I can't afford to have someone else do it all the time, but she did it so good and so fast, I may have to have her do it from now on. Not really, but he looks so good! I should have taken a picture of the back. I did watch her though and hopefully next time I can cut it even better.
Jenna had so many hairs that were longer than the rest. Her hair is still wispy, but at least it's now all the same length.

I had her do some side bangs for Kylee and she loves it! I think she looks so dang grown up. I cant' believe she'll be in 4th grade! I'm glad she got Mr. Craig this year. He is an awesome teacher!

Summer's hair gets so stringy when it's long, so we cut quite a bit off. Jer thinks we should have gone shorter. She loves it though, and she also got an awesome teacher! Mrs. Kelley is our Relief Society President!

I LOVE my new hair cut. I have wanted to do an A line forever and the front was finally long enough to try it. I also love the highlights! I just need a flat iron now. She used one and it only took a couple of minutes, but it looks so much better!

One more week of fun!

I can't believe that school starts again next week! I have enjoyed this summer so much! I love having my kids home! I am excited that both girls got great teachers and I know they'll have fun and do well, but I'll miss them! We decided to have a swim party in the back yard yesterday and had so much fun! Even Jenna joined in everything. She wasn't afraid to get in even when it was cold and even didn't mind getting splashed repeatedly in the face when the kids didn't aim well, trying to get me wet. We had such a fun time! I took a million pictures, but here are a few.

The swim lessons paid off! Using their new skills in the pool.

I love that no one fussed when they got splashed. It was all fun!

She decided the bigger pool was fun with no one else in it!

Not the best picture of me, but what do I expect, I'm in a swimming suit, and Kylee took the picture ;)

Jenna loves the trampoline! She likes it best when she's on by herself, of course. She was dancing in this picture.

I helped them put the pool under the slide and they loved it! We had the hose on the slide for a while. Jenna even went down a couple of times.

They realized after a while that the little pool was warm and they all took turns in it. So cute, relaxing together! We'll have to do this again, before it gets too cold!

Toothless

A while back Jer took us to see "How to train your Dragon", a movie that I loved!

So did the kids!

(Well Kylee was gone with friends and is still upset that she hasn't seen it.

Hopefully it'll come out

on dvd soon!) Anyway, our favorite dragon was toothless.

Logan even got some pj's that say

toothless on them. Well, now we can call him toothless!

Remember the swollen lip when Logan

hit the bowling ball?

Well the tooth died and he got an abscess above the tooth,

so we went for the cheaper way of

fixing the problem. The dentist pulled it out.

He did great! He was excited for a visit from

the tooth fairy.
I'm used to it now, even though it took a few days.

He is so funny and loves to show everyone,

even people he doesn't know and tells them that his tooth died.

You can close your eyes if you don't want to see this next picture,

but I couldn't help taking it.

It was so funny.

The kids were supposed to be up getting on pj's when Jer and I heard a lot of

noise. Jer went to look and quietly told me to hurry and come see.

This is what we found.

I don't know why he had to take off his underwear to get on his jammies,

but I guess the girls

closed the door on him and he was very busy throwing everything

in his room at the door, including the toy box, and his Sunday shoes.

We couldn't help but laugh! What cute little buns!

I wrote on Facebook the other day, and had to share here too,

what I overheard Logan say to Kylee. "Kylee, pretend I'm a girl, k, pretend."

I laughed so hard! Jer didn't like that much though!

Logan is such a turkey! On Sunday before church he was mad at me over

something and told me he wanted a different Mom.

Then later after church I did something he liked and he

told me I'm the best Mom ever! He sure keeps me on my toes!

My baby is 2!

I can't believe that my sweet baby is 2! Jenna turned 2 on July 28th. I have enjoyed every minute of her life! I love that she is my last one, but I don't want her to grow too fast.

Jenna is so unique! She has been not fond of strangers (or anyone other than Mom, Dad, and sisters and brother) from 4 mo. old. She gives great dirty looks. But at the same time she is so dang sweet! She has the cutest dimple on her right upper cheek and I love when she shows it with a smile! Lately she has learned to open doors. It's actually a good thing. Now I don't have to get up every time she wants to go downstairs. She even opened her bedroom door today with a little nudge from me. Now she can just get up from her nap and come find me.

Here she is showing off Kylee's present to her. A crocheted bracelet.
I love when they get so excited to open presents.
She loved her new "baby". Thankfully, this replaced her binky. The day after her birthday I told her she was too big for a binky and asked her to throw it away. She did and hasn't had it since. She has only asked for it a few times and hasn't thrown a fit for it at all. What a good girl.

I tried to make it look like a flower. I'm not so good at that stuff, but Jenna loved the bright colors and I loved the cream cheese icing!

I think she had a good birthday!
One of Jenna's faces.
This was last night at Jer's softball game. She decided to put it on backwards. She so dang cute!

The last day! Pioneer day Celebrations!

We got to celebrate pioneer day while in Nevada. Jer's Mom and Dad's ward celebrated by having a kids parade, playing games and eating yummy food! Here are a few pictures.

Everybody loved how we decorated!
Roping a bull! The kids loved this!

They all had to cheat though. They put the rope on then, stood back and pretended that they threw it on!

Friday night, grandma and I went to a ladies house and together we made 8 apple pies! They have a crumb topping instead of pastry and were so dang yummy!

Kylee was so excited to play volleyball with the grown ups. At first she wasn't sure what she could do, but later got the hang of it.
This nice man in Grandmas ward helped all the kids get at least one hit.
Just Chillin with Grandma
Other than many mosquito bites in spite of spray, and 4 diaper changes, we had a great time!
