I'm going to have an 8 yr old!

For some reason saying that I will have and 8 year old seems so weird. Sometimes I still feel too young to even have any kids. I am so excited though for Kylee to turn 8 on Friday. She is so excited too. That is all she talks about. She helped me make the invitations and she brought them to school today to give out. I asked her what she wants to do at her party and the only thing she could think of was to play her favorite game, Clue. I am so not good at parties so the only think I thought of was doing their nails, and some makeup. (Any ideas you may have will be gladly welcome!)
I am however way excited about making her cake. I found this cute idea on Familyfun.com.
I think she will love it! Hopefully the finished product will look close to this! Wish me luck.
The most exciting part about her turning 8, of course, is her getting baptised. Jeremy has been going to Sacrament meeting for a couple of months now, and the bishop assures me that he is planning on baptising her. I am so glad. It will be sometime in March. We are still trying to figure out when. Jeremy doesn't like an audience so we'll have to discuss with the Bishop what we can do. I'm so glad that Jeremy won't have to regret not doing it someday when he is older. (He might reach maturity someday before he dies! I hope!)

Root beer and Breastmilk

To some of you, these things may not seem to go together, but thanks to my sister-in-law Cherish, I know they do. When Kylee was a baby, she couldn't eat for a while and I soon found out I don't make a lot of milk, and pumping wasn't helping. Cherish told me that drinking root beer can help! I guess a long time ago women even drank regular beer to help make more breast milk. It took a month, but Kylee soon was eating fine.

Well Jenna started having a growth spurt about a few weeks ago and every time she nursed, she would gulp for only a few minutes and it would be gone and she would cry. I'd switch her to the other side and there was only a few minutes worth more. Then only an hour later she'd want more. So I went and bought some root beer. That night I drank one and put her to bed at her usual time of 7 and she woke up to eat at her usual time of 5. Well, I was so full! I was so excited. It worked with all my kids and I made sure I had some in the fridge when Jenna was born, but I haven't had any for at least 5 months, so I forgot how well it could work.

I'm sure there is some ingredient in it that does the trick, but even if it's just in my head it works! So for now I'm sticking with Root beer to make more breasmilk.

So funny

Jeremy was able to go to the Jazz game last Thursday (he got tickets from work) and he brought home these sweat bands. Logan said they are his.

Summer had Popcorn-Pajama day on Friday for Preschool. She was so excited! She got her backpack on and was all ready to go for about 30 min before.

Logan wanted to have a bag too so he came into the room wearing Jeremy's basketball shoes. He said they are his bags. What an imagination.

A-Choo

Logan came running into my room this morning while I was feeding Jenna in bed saying
"Mom, achoo, on my bed!" I was like what in the heck are you talking about? Kylee went to see and told me their was a drool spot on his bed. He was telling me that he sneezed and there is spit on his bed. It was so funny!

Yummy food

I like to watch Good Things Utah once in a while and the other day they had a recipe called Light and Airy Nachos by Angel Shannan. They seemed so easy and looked yummy so I tried it. I was right. It was easy and so yummy. All you do is get won ton skins (in the produce section by the salad. It only cost $2.50 at my Wal-mart and I used half for the meal) and fry them in oil on Medium heat. I cut them in half from corner to corner to make triangles. (One side till brown and flip to the other side) You can do that before hand. Then just get all the other ingredients and put it together and heat it in the oven.
Alfredo Sauce (I used half of a 16 oz. jar) with 1 cup of Pepper Jack cheese melted in. Add milk to make it not so thick. (Any one who knows me knows that I hate peppers. I was afraid to use the Pepper Jack, but I knew Jeremy loved it so I tried it. It was so good!)
Chicken (I used a whole chicken already cooked from the store and cut it up. You can cook your own or use some from a can.)
Olives
Tomatoes
Jalapenos (I didn't use these! He He)
And any other veggies you want
And more cheese, any kind. I used Cheddar.
Make layers with chips, sauce, chicken and veggies and heat for 5-10 min at 350. I loved it!

The top version is mine with olives and the bottom one is Jeremy's with Tomatoes!

Valentine Cookies!

I haven't made sugar cookies for a long time. They aren't my favorite. I like making them though. The kids had so much fun rolling the dough and cutting them. Of course decorating is the best part.

I borrowed Mama Mia from Tiffany the Thursday before Valentine's Day and that night Jeremy came home and gave me my Valentine's Present (I know, crazy!) Guess what it was. Mama Mia. I was so excited. What a good boy!

Family Fun

It's been a long time since we've done something more than take a ride in the car as a family. On Saturday Jeremy had to clean at work so I went to a Shade shirt sale in PG then met Jer at a Toyota dealership to look at Carola's (we're going to wait one more year to get Jer a commuter car. We'll just fix the oil leaks on the truck for now.) We were both not wanting to just go home and watch t,v, the rest of the day, so we went to eat at one of our favorite places, Costa Vita. It is inside a Fat Cat's and bowling looked fun, but Fat Cat's was way busy. So instead we went to BYU. It wasn't as busy. We had fun! Logan was crazy, running around and jumping all over. At one point Jer was annoyed and tried to get him to calm down, but I helped him relax and realize that he's 2 and just having fun. We'll have to do this again soon. It was fun!

Imagination

You may think when you see this picture that it is an ordinary girls headband...
But when Logan has it, it's goggles for some made up bad guy that he is being! He is so funny.

He wanted to wear both hats.

CEREAL!

I love babies first feeding. It's so fun to see their funny faces. I think with Jenna she thought the spoon was worse than the cereal. Until the end when she could hold the spoon herself. She's so dang cute.

Pleah!

She's actually happy here. She's sticking her tummy in the air.

She liked the spoon. She is still so little. I think she might have lost a few ounces this week when she was sick. She sleeps 10 hrs at night without eating so during the day she needs to eat every two hours to get enough food. (I don't make a ton) Since she has been sick she has napped two to four hours at a time, two or three times a day. So when I took her to the doctor yesterday she only weighed 13 lbs. 1 oz. He says she looks good and she will probably have a growth spurt soon. So he's not worried. I'll take her back in a month for her second flu shot and a weight check. I'm sure she'll gain more this month.

New Due

I told Jeremy it was time for a haircut and he told me to go real short and get blond highlights. I was just excited that he has an opinion at all about what I look like. So here's my new due. I really like it!

Sorry about the silly expression. It's hard taking a picture of yourself. You might not have noticed, but I did first thing. I need to do the dishes! I can't until Kylee gets home and unloads. And I need to make the Jell-o on the counter. Kylee got her expander put in the roof of her mouth today. It might be hard to eat. I have to turn the expander three days a week for 6 weeks. It will be so good when we're done. There is no where for her new molar to go right now. In a couple of weeks there will be!
