My Grandpa Williams

My Grandpa, Paul Deloss Williams, has always been in my life. The whole 28 years I could always count on a hug and a kiss when I saw him. I never lived too far away, and I saw him very often when I was young. Of course after I got married and had kids it was a little less often. But he (and Grandma) were still always there. A couple of weeks ago they found out he was in the last stages of Cancer. He was 90 years old, and we are glad that he didn't suffer long. He passed away peacefully at home on Saturday July 5th. He lived such a great life. I've always been able to see his great example. I loved how he treated Grandma and his children, and of course grandchildren. He was such a hard worker. But even better, I got to hear more about his life at his funeral on Wednesday July 9th. He was even more amazing than I knew. He was incredibly intelligent, knowing all about chemicals, and was an expert welder. I found out more details about how he served our country in the Navy, and how he fell in love with my Grandma after only one date. He also was very talented in the garden. I remember all the fruits and vegetable he had in their big garden growing up. I loved eating the raspberries. I am so blessed to have come from such great heritage. I will always be thankful for his example and testimony, which my grandparents instilled in my Mom, that I now am benefitting from!

I love you Grandpa and will never forget the way you cared about your Celest"E" and Jeremy and our kids, who you always made sure you called by name, even though you have over 80 great grandchildren! I will never forget you!

Yes, I also enjoyed your tribute to our wonderful, loving Grandfather. Thank you for sharing.
There are many of us, but I know he loves and cares for each and every one of us! I will miss having him around too!
