She's here!!!

So, she was 3 1/2 weeks early, but since she is doing fine I'm so glad she is here now! I know, for those of you who go to your due date or past, your thinking, wah, but that last week and a half was so hard and uncomfortable. She felt like she grew so much everyday. My skin was stretched to the limits. I started having contractions on Saturday the 26th, (on my own, mind you! No help from a certain someone) So by 4 pm on Sunday I decided they were close enough together to go to the hospital. We took the kids to my sister Cynthia's in Payson (thank you so much to her!) and went to get checked. I was at a 4 and after an hour of very consistent contractions, wasn't progressing. So I walked for another hour, again with consistent contractions and still no progress. My doctor was on his way to Provo anyway so he decided to stop by and check me himself. He noticed that my water was on the verge of breaking on its own so he didn't want to send me home all the way to santaquin. So he broke my water. After a few more hours of more consistent contractions I was only at a 6 maybe 7. So I decided to get an epidural, hoping to relax and dilate. It worked. They gave me a little pitocin (sp?) and I was suddenly at a 10. I pushed 3 times and she was out!

I got to nurse her right away and she did great! It was the first time I got to nurse in the delivery room. I loved it!
Later that morning, after getting maybe an hour of sleep, I found out that she needed a little bit of oxygen, and she was breathing way too fast. After sitting with her for a couple of hours in the nursery, her breathing had slowed down enough to go feed her. She was still eating well so they just kept watching her,but allowing me to feed her. They made her stay through the next night and put her under the lights, since her jaundice levels were getting too high. But they brought her in every three hours for me to feed her. I actually slept pretty well. We both got to go home on Wednesday morning. Jeremy left the kids with my friend Tiffany and came to get us.

I made him get his picture taken. He hates camera's. But he's so cute! He took such good care of the kids. Even if the kids ate cereal and watermelon for dinner and didn't go to bed until 10 or 11. On Wednesday he did the dishes and swept and moped the floor! I was so thankful!

Logan didn't want a turn holding her. He very softly rubbed her head a few times and then didn't pay her any attention. He just wanted to eat my crackers, and play in the chairs and the curtain. I wasn't too surprised.

She looks so little. It was so fun having her come home with me. 2 out of 4 isn't so bad. (I have to brag a little. I made the blanket. Those who know me won't be surprised that those are frogs on the pink camo. I love it!)

This morning we went to the doctor and the hospital to get another jaundice test. She gained an ounce over night, so the doctor is no longer worried about her weight. (She got down to 6 lb 3 oz yesterday) Her levels went up a little so we will check her again on Saturday. If it stays below 16.5 we won't have to treat her for it. Its at 13 now. We'll keep feeding her tons and she should be fine!

We also registered Kylee for second grade. She is getting excited. Only 3 more weeks. Her teacher is Ms. Moore. We get to meet her on August 19th.
